John Ternus
Financial Planner, Accredited Behavioral Finance ProfessionalTM

John has spent the past twenty-one years as an active duty soldier in the Nebraska Army National Guard. He has been on several deployments worldwide. During his service, one of his observations was how two individuals with the same income lived drastically different lives. This sparked his passion for a better understanding of personal finances. In 2013, he decided he would further pursue this passion and that his post-military retirement career would be as a financial advisor. He immediately began his formal education to meet this goal.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland Global Campus, magma cum laude. John passed the Series 65 exam and is an Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65) with Brookstone Capital Management. He holds a license in Nebraska for life and annuities, sickness, accident, and health insurance. John understands that there is more to financial planning than numbers; there are equally important human and behavioral aspects. As a result, he has earned the Accredited Behavioral Finance ProfessionalTM designation.

John lives in Grand Island with his wife Amy, two sons, and their St. Berdoodle named Winston. He enjoys camping with his family, fishing, and most outdoor activities in his spare time.
